The gemstone used in these earrings (Lapis-Lazuli) was used by Egyptians to accent the burial mask of King Tut. This gemstone has been mined from the same location for the last 7,000 years. The earrings are constructed of 18 karat gold.

These 18 karat gold hoop earrings are made using a technique called "Anticlastic Raising". The entire earring is made from a sheet of gold that is formed with a hammer. One end is hammered into a small tube that receives the other end that has been hammered into a small wire. Few people own earrings that require so many hours to make.
